Howard Vanfleet Oral History Interview
Howard B. Vanfleet grew up at 1504 East 2100 South from the age of four in 1935. His father, Willard Parker Vanfleet was hired as a guard at the state penitentiary in Sugar House and later became deputy warden. The family moved out when the prison was relocated to Point of the Mountain in 1951. He is a retired professor emeritus of physics at Brigham Young University. He and wife Helen are the parents of seven children.
